Chi Alpha Water Outreach @ PSU

Had a great outreach at PSU today.  Handed out just under 500 bottles of water in 3 hours.  Greatly underestimated the response.

Randy Burke Featured On Front Page of Paper

Yesterday FLAG's Randy Burke was featured on the front page of The Morning Sun for his work and as a gym owner and personal trainer.

It is a great article and picture, but unfortunately is it not yet on The Morning Sun's website. I will put that link here when it is available.

Regina Smith Doing Better After Fall

You may have seen some emergency vehicles this past Sunday. Reginah Smith took a fall as she was exiting the rear doors out of church.

Nothing broken! Praise God! I visited with her that afternoon. She was in a great, joking around mood.

Next time we see her, according to the doctor, she will not have a cane, but a full walker.

Modular Building On Site And In 1 Piece!

A crew finished yesterday placing the two pieces of the modular into 1 piece!

Expect a call to help prepare the building for use soon.

FLAG Teaming Up With PSU Football Team

FLAG has an opportunity to sow seeds of ministry into the lives of those involved with the 2009 PSU Gorilla football team.

Pastor Mark will be speaking in all 5 of the PSU pre-home game chapels.  He will be sharing a serries of messages about living a Purpose-Driven Life. The messages will deal with the 5 biblical purposes of a believer - Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, and Evangelism.

We desire to give each player, coach, manager, etc. that is involved with the team a copy of The Purpose Driven Life.  The 130 books will cost us about $1000.  If you would like to contribute to this need, please mark your offering as PSU Football.

Water Baptism Service and Pictures

“Upon profession of your faith in the Lord Jesus, I now baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

These words were said by Pastor Mark Lehman 7 times at the Water Baptismal service on Sunday August 10th at the combined 10am service. It was held at the YMCA and the indoor pool was used. The following people were baptized: Alvin Jackson, Molly Sands, Tim Snider, Jimmy Petty, Matthew Baker, Alyx Mcghee, and Allen McDaniel.

FLAG has a baptismal service once a year in a location such as the YMCA or the originally scheduled location of Lincoln Park, before all the rain. These locations are large enough to combine the three services and provide other benefits. Pastor Mark said that it makes the baptismal more public and a celebration.

Immediately following the service was a FLAG family picnic at Lincoln Park. The church provided brisket, drinks, and a Baptismal cake. Families brought side dishes. Kids at the picnic enjoyed the free Kiddieland rides and the playground area.

Random Building Dumped at FLAG

For some reason a few guys in a truck delivered two halves of a house-like structure to the FLAG facility this morning.

Pastor Mark and Admin. Asst. Bryan are not here to explain the significance of this to me at this point in time.
