Pictured at right are the group's leaders Scott and Lisa Bennett.

SAM meets every Wednesday night at 7 p.m. for Bible study and discussion. Currently the group is studying relationships (church family, family, friends, romantic) and how to build a strong foundation in them and in God. After the bible study, some of the group goes to Apple Bee’s for a time of fun and fellowship. Other activities that the SAM group participates in include outreach and inreach service projects, lunch every 1st and 3rd Sunday at various locations in Pittsburg, game nights, movie nights, and a bonfire night is in the works.

Since the group started meeting during 40 days of Community, it has grown in size and is looking for a location that will allow the group to grow. Please pray for this need.
If you would like to come to SAM on Wednesday nights or one of the scheduled events, please contact Scott Bennett by email: sl.bennett.5@hotmail.com or by phone

Utterance and Interpretation - 02-24-08

Recent Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Family Life believes in the practice of the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit as taught in 1 Corinthians chapters 12-14, and most specifically in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 and 14:26-32.

The most frequent uses of these gifts are the verbal gifts of “a word of prophecy” and an “utterance in tongues with interpretation.”

We were able to capture and transcribe a recent demonstration in one of our services. 1 Corinthians 14:29 tells us to “weigh carefully what was said” in the use of these gifts.

I would say how hungry are you?
Because you see, I can only fill you to the point of your hunger is satisfied
Will you come to me to ask for me to fill you?
How empty are you?
Have you emptied it all out that I may fill you completely full?
What is half full? What is full?

I have said to you I want to pour out a blessing, an anointing on you that you can’t even contain
That means that it has to come to the brim and overflow
I do not want to fill you only once or twice
I want a river
I want something that will flow into this world

I don’t want dribbles and drops, I want gushing water
I want something this world will know is supernatural
Not just something that is humanly possible

I want to use you in pains and ways in this world that they will know that you are my disciples and I am HE

Who is among you today
If you really want what I have
Ask, and I will give it to you

Word of Prophecy - 02-17-08 - 10:00 am Service

I have come that you would have everything you need
I desire your sincere worship
I am your all sufficient one
I am the one who understands the pain and the agony
I have come to bind up the brokenhearted
I have come to put back together – I am the Great Physician
I am He who will heal you

Do you not know that I understand what pain is?
I understand what loneliness is
Do I not bear with my own body today the very scars that were given to me by friends in the house of my friends?

I say to you that I’ve come that you might have life
When I hear of your worship you get my attention
Because I desire – I want you to know who I am
That I am your sanctuary
I am the place that you can come, that you can hide out with me
I will caress you. I will love you.

I will want you to know what life is really about
Not the pain of this world, but you will not come through this world without scars
I am He who can heal you.
I am He who can bring the joy into your heart
When you come to me and worship me in sincerity pour your heart out

I long to have more and more of you
Open the door of your heart so that I can come in
You and I can commune one with another
I desire so much – there are things in store for you can not even imagine
I have joys unlimited and abounding to you

Open your heart to me
Let me know you
Worship me, with purity of heart
I will give unto you that which you desire
Things that you don’t even know or understand yet

FLAG Super Bowl Party

On Feb. 3 FLAG held the annual Super Bowl party. The church has been doing this for 5 or 6 years. FLAG holds church events like this where members can strengthen relationships with each other and invite friends and family members for a good time. Pictured is (from left to right) is Daniel Bennett, Tanisha Trout, Kim Burlingham, and Christie Napier beside 32 feet of Sub sandwiches.

Pictured (left to right) is Gina Peterson, Blake Perterson, Kevin Carter, and Aaron Napier filling out Super Bowl Contest sheets moments before the game started. Prizes were given away at the end of each quarter for the closest guesses and at the end of the game a Grand Prize for a guess of the score. For those who didn't watch the game, classrooms were available for scrapbooking, the Wii, and board games.
