Passing of Janet Adams, David Adams’ Mother

While most of FLAG were on their way to a water baptismal service David and Cassie Adams (see picture below Janet’s picture) were mourning the passing of David’s mother, Janet. She passed away on Sunday, at approximately 1:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held at the church from 6-7 pm this Friday, August 24th.

Families are encouraged to stop by and love on this dear family.

Thankful for all the support, great staff, encouragement, and hard work that went into a great day glorifying God yesterday.

With 158 chairs set up, the 9 am service was wonderfully full.  Approx 130 adults in attendance.

The 10:45 service had over 180 fill the new auditorium.  Chair problem!

Counting children’s church and nursery: just short of 420 people. Highest non-Easter attendance ever.

Then 28 were baptized at the City Pool later that day!

“Take my life and let it be, all for You and for Your glory.”

Memories–Old Auditorium

Today was our last Sunday holding morning services in our current auditorium.  We move into a new Worship Center next Sunday.

I asked the congregation to text in their personal powerful memories from times spent in this space.

They are listed below, or attached here.

1. Accepting Jesus Christ as my Savior

2. Being save on the east steps watching my son take communion for the first time, my best friends funeral

3. This is the space where I feel at home, surrounded by Christian people that care. It's my home church. I love it here.

4. All the friendly people my first time here.

5. My most memorable moment in this room was the day Anthony asked myself, Otis, and Aaron to come to the youth on Wednesday night. I was shocked to see how all the youth there were pouring their hearts out to God in worship. It's obviously that this church is making a difference and helping develop relationships with Jesus.

6. 4 baby dedications, 1 memorial service, baptized in holy spirit, Gods presence

7. All of my siblings coming back to Christ in this room.

8. Fighting against the call of God' s will then answering that call

9. God has stretched me to use his gifts.

10. Both of my kids were dedicated in this room.

11. I realized I was not along in anything, and found a way to praise the lord with my drumming

12. It was the first time in a long time in actually enjoyed church

13. Hayden Navaratnam's memorial service.

14. Rededicated my life to God....first started attending church with my wife

15. after 4 years of marriage

16. Mark’s parents attending1st sun here

17. u pryd with us after worship. i cried & u id with us leaving old church. sandy

18. God met me in my brokenness after my husband’s job in the ministry changed unexpectedly.

19. This space is the first space where I felt free to believe and worship. To lift my hands and freely give my heart and my life to God.

20. Sharing the pulpit talking about sex with my mom present.

21. The first Sunday after losing my job i felt the Lord tell me all would be okay.

22. This is the first space i opened up to God and let Him into my life.

23. I first had the courage to speak to my now husband after we moved into this room.

24. Conner son sharing the pulpit with you.

25. Each Ladies Spring Luncheon and Christmas Tea.

26. when I was at my life lows. Truth: I can't change people

27. First time here--- searching for (new) Church home and Pastor (Mark) prayed with us for wisdom

28. Bringing Ron Sandoval here to surprise you on your 20th birthday in Christ.

29. Learned with God in my heart i can stand and walk toward new beginnings, and that is ok to openly love my lord

30. In this space, God told me that my Papa was in heaven and he loves me. It was the best thing that's happened to me, in my life.

31. Learned prayers have power!!!!!!!!!

32. when i came i felt g00d and m00t judged

33. Felt the physical presence of God

34. Found hope. Thank you flag.

35. I don't have a specific event, but I love my church.

36. We dedicated both of our children in this building!

37. I’ve met amazing people that don’t judge me.

38. Became my home church

39. I recently moved to Pittsburg and was trying to find a new church. I became closer to Jesus!

40. Being in children's ministry and watching them grow in God. Including two of my own.

41. 1st time we attended church as a family...and the 1st time our kids began 2 connect 2 God and Jesus

42. I've seen husband and three children serve on the worship team in this room

43. My family grew closer to God and began using our gifts for God's glory. We have been healed from past hurts.

44. I got involved and became a contributor to the Church.

45. The first time i felt excited to rock out for god was n this space

46. I gave my testimony 4 the first time in this building.

47. After living a life time in Pittsburg I finely found the church I have looked a life time to find. FLAG

48. I've made what I hope to be lifelong relationships that have already greatly impacted my life.

49. This church helped me discover my style of worship and helped me lose my fear of raising my hands. I now know who I am in Christ!

50. When you baked those cookies on mother’s day! Our church is so awesome!

51. Our son crawled and walked for the first time in this building.

1. Felt welcome and loved. I enjoy worshiping and praising my Lord.

2. Found a home full of God and His people after searching for a long time.

3. In this room... I finally was blessed with the opportunity to embrace Gods beautiful, unconditional, and perfect love... In this room God comforted me

4. Healing.

5. Decided to get baptized...

6. Jennier schooley abby amd shirley gave me the strength to step out of the box and most of all i felt the love that i deserve

7. Found my gift of how i should pour into others

8. The first time I saw the alters full with broken youth on a Wednesday is a powerful memory.

John McCoy–Missionary in American Samoa

Many FLAG attenders will remember John McCoy.  He attended FLAG as a PSU student for 3 years.  We interviewed him back in early 2011 on a Sunday morning.  He was a quarterback for the PSU football team.

He is now serving as a missionary in the American Samoan Islands.

Check out his newsletter here.  The first page is specific to John, the rest seems to be the ministry’s main newsletter.

I encourage you to pray and support John as well as share this on your social media.  Thanks!

You may bring them to the church on Monday from 10 am to 3 pm.

You may email your info to office@flagchurch.com.
