Passing of Janet Adams, David Adams’ Mother

While most of FLAG were on their way to a water baptismal service David and Cassie Adams (see picture below Janet’s picture) were mourning the passing of David’s mother, Janet. She passed away on Sunday, at approximately 1:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held at the church from 6-7 pm this Friday, August 24th.

Families are encouraged to stop by and love on this dear family.

Thankful for all the support, great staff, encouragement, and hard work that went into a great day glorifying God yesterday.

With 158 chairs set up, the 9 am service was wonderfully full.  Approx 130 adults in attendance.

The 10:45 service had over 180 fill the new auditorium.  Chair problem!

Counting children’s church and nursery: just short of 420 people. Highest non-Easter attendance ever.

Then 28 were baptized at the City Pool later that day!

“Take my life and let it be, all for You and for Your glory.”

Memories–Old Auditorium

Today was our last Sunday holding morning services in our current auditorium.  We move into a new Worship Center next Sunday.

I asked the congregation to text in their personal powerful memories from times spent in this space.

They are listed below, or attached here.

5. My most memorable moment in this room was the day Anthony asked myself, Otis, and Aaron to come to the youth on Wednesday night. John McCoy–Missionary in American Samoa

Many FLAG attenders will remember John McCoy.  He attended FLAG as a PSU student for 3 years.  We interviewed him back in early 2011 on a Sunday morning.  He was a quarterback for the PSU football team.

He is now serving as a missionary in the American Samoan Islands.

Check out his newsletter here.  The first page is specific to John, the rest seems to be the ministry’s main newsletter.

I encourage you to pray and support John as well as share this on your social media.  Thanks!
